Treats...and Tricks

In keeping with his tradition of trying to scare the heck out of everyone, Morgan chose to be a Undead Warlock...or a Master of Evil...depends on when you are asking him. His costume was pretty scary, he is quite dramatic when it comes to Halloween and really gets into the act.

We were invited to our good friends the Lozano's for a spook-tacular party. Their son Cameron is one of Morgan's best friends. Taegan, another good friend, was also invited. We went to the community center in the Lozano's neighborhood. The kids could bob for apples, jump in a bouncy house, and participate in a costume contest.

Before we left, all of the kids...at least the ones that weren't too scared...gathered around the "monster" for a picture.

Morgan and Taegan looked like they had picked costumes together...both were creepy...Cameron was dressed as a character from a video game he plays. His mom did a fabulous job on his costume, she is so talented!

We walked from the community center back to their house and did a little trick or treating on the way. Morgan had some confetti eggs so he could do a little "tricking" but a few broke in his candy bag. I was hoping the walk would wear him out a little...no such luck.

We passed a house that was completely decked out...I had to post this for Daniele :) The picture isn't that great, but they it had gravestones in the front yard, creepy things and spider webs hanging everywhere, strips of cloth hanging on the front porch that looked like they were bloodied, and the owners were dressed up and would come out every once in awhile and stand on the porch.

After we got back to the house, all of the kids dumped their loot onto the floor. Taegan had to leave a little early, but Morgan and Cameron helped to give out trick or treat candy. Cameron ran a fog machine at the door and Morgan hid in the bushes to jump out at the unsuspecting candy seekers. Fortunately, he wasn't in his costume anymore....unfortunately he didn't have shoes on either so his socks were full of dirt. All of the kids had a great time making "potions" which were lemonade with different flavors added. The Lozano's had been hard at work creating ghoulishy delightful food. They had brains (shrimp dip), guts (jello with tapioca), spinal cords (tortilla rolls with cream cheese and salsa), ogre toes (grapes), and mummy dogs (pigs in a blanket). One of the little girls wouldn't touch any of the food because she was afraid of the names...they did such a great job and everyone had a fun time.

Morgan could have kept going all night, but I had to drag him home around 11:00. It didn't take him long to pass out once we got home. However he was up bright and early eating candy...sigh.
